Our Purpose

The purpose of this church is to glorify God and empower people into growing in the fullness of God. We will obtain this end through the public worship of God, the preaching and teaching of the Holy Scriptures.

Many lives, families and communities will be transformed by the love of God. And we, the church, are equipped to make an impact now in this community.

 (Eph. 1:5-14; Col. 1:9-10; Mat. 5:16; 1 Pet. 2:9-12).

Servants of the Lord

Gal 5:13 CEV My friends, you were chosen to be free. So don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do anything you want. Use it as an opportunity to serve each other with love.

We must use every opportunity to serve God and His people in the spirit of Love. As Individuals we can be great but collectively we are greater. We must work together in the spirit of unity.

We must be the church where people from all walks of life and ages come together to experience the life changes only Jesus Christ can provide.

We must work together as an extension of Christ to see individuals, families, and communities positively impacted in every area of their lives.

What We Believe

  • We believe the Bible is the inspired and only infallible written Word of God.

  • We believe there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

  • We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His work of miracles and healings, in His substitutionary death, in His blood shedding which atones for the sins of the world, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal future return to this earth in power and glory.

  • We believe the only means of being cleansed from sin is through believing in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and confessing with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord."

  • We believe salvation is gained by having faith in Jesus Christ alone.

  • We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit empowering and enabling the Christian to live a holy life in this present world, and to minister as Jesus did.

  • We believe in the observance of the Lord’s supper and immersed water baptism.

  • We believe in the resurrection of all persons, both the saved and the lost. The saved shall be raised toeverlasting life and the lost to everlasting condemnation in hell.

  • We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female.  These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God (Gen 1:26-27). Rejection of one's biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.

  • We believe the term "marriage" has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as depicted in Scripture (Gen 2:18-25).  The Second Tabernacle Church will only conduct a marriage ceremony and recognize the marriage between a biological man and a biological woman.

  • We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (1 Cor 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb 13:4).  We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of the marriage between a Husband and his Wife.

  • We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God (Matt 15:18-20; 1 Cor 6:9-10).

  • We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ (Acts 3:19-21; Rom 10:9-10; 1 Cor 6:9-11).

  • We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31). Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual is not acceptable.

  • We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of the Second Tabernacle Church as the local Body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to the Second Tabernacle members and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by Second Tabernacle Church in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, agree to and abide by the Scriptures and the doctrines of Second Tabernacle Church.
